Anthony Petullo is an art collector and advocate for the visual arts. In 1993–95 an exhibition of works selected from his collection traveled to eight American museums. In addition, numerous works from his collection have been included in museum exhibitions. Petullo is the author of Self-Taught and Outsider Art: The Anthony Petullo Collection (University of Illinois Press, 2001) and the coauthor, with Katherine Murrell, of Scottie Wilson: Peddler Turned Painter (Petullo Publishing, 2004). He is a trustee of the Milwaukee Art Museum and the president of a charitable foundation. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Petullo served as a United States Navy officer, worked as a corporate marketing manager, and was an entrepreneur for more than thirty years. He lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
