American
Tim Lewis was born in 1952, and has lived in eastern Kentucky for most of his life. He worked in a variety of occupations but after an accident in 1988, took up carving, which is an activity many in his family are proficient at.
Lewis works in stone, metal, and wood, and produces religious subjects, figures and animals, sometimes with a distinctly humorous nature. In 1996 he was commissioned to create an installation for the Olympic games in Atlanta.
